The placement of the Top 10 WR’s are debatable, but that’s what makes all this great, everyone else’s option. These guys are clear cut WR1 on many Fantasy teams, it’s just a matter of how you place them in your rankings. Remember, everyone should put together their own rankings/cheat sheets prior to going to your Fantasy draft. It’ll allow you to stay on top of every situation that may occur. Don’t be afraid to make changes as the draft goes on, you have to adapt to the draft, not the other way around. Be the master of your domain. Before we get to the Top 10, let’s recap 30-11: 30) Hines Ward – Pittsburgh Steelers : My Projection : 851 YDS – 7 RTD’s 10) Chad Johnson – Cincinnati Bengals : Poor, poor Chad Johnson. This was once a guy I rooted for because he was entertaining. Now, all this guy is, is a liar and a cry baby. As a Fantasy owner though, I could care less. As long as Johnson is on the field, he’ll produce. The big question concerning Johnson though is not whether or not he’ll be on the field, but will the damaged relationship between he and Carlson Palmer be fixed prior to the season. We’ll see what happens next time on…, “As Charles Johnson Turns.” My Projection : 1250 YDS – 8 RTD’s 9) Steve Smith –Carolina Panthers : All the news so far out of Carolina is that QB Jake Delhomme is ready to go after Tommy John surgery which is great news for Smith. Last season, despite the lack of a bona fide QB, Smith still managed to gain over a 1,000 yds. With the addition of WR’s Muhsin Muhammad and DJ Hackett teams will no longer be able to double and triple team Smith. To me, Smith is primed to be one of the top-three WR’s by year end. Lets all hope Delhomme is healthy. My Projection : 1150 YDS – 9 RTD’s 8) Marques Colston – New Orleans Saints : Colston is a beast on corner backs. At 6’4”, he’s another WR that is built like Terrell Owens and can make things happen. As QB Drew Brees’ number one option, the third year WR should see similar, if not improved numbers from a year ago. A middle to late second round pick, and you have yourself one heck of WR1. My Projection : 1220 YDS – 9 RTD’s 7) Torry Holt – St. Louis Rams : Jump on the Torry Hold bandwagon with me. You want consistent, in 2006 Holt had 93 receptions and 1188 yds. In 2007, he had 93 receptions and 1189 yds. This what Holt does year in and year out. Look for a slight bump in his TD’s this year, and trust me, Holt won’t disappoint. My Projection : 1221 YDS – 9 RTD’s 6) Andre Johnson – Houston Texans : With a much improved Houston Texans offense, Andre Johnson could be primed for another great season. Johnson and QB Matt Schaub seemed to have formed a great relationship, which is fantastic news for Johnson owners. This could be an amazing season for Johnson if he can stay healthy and on the field. A great WR1 for your Fantasy team. My Projection : 1205 YDS – 10 RTD’s 5) Braylon Edwards – Cleveland Browns : Finally we saw what type of WR Braylon Edwards could be after all the hype coming out of the University of Michigan. Edwards put up gaudy numbers (1289 yds – 16 TD’s) in 2007, and the big question is, can he duplicate that again in 2008? The Browns offense is stacked, and as long as there is no QB controversy, Edwards should once again enjoy a great season. My Projection : 1160 YDS – 12 RTD’s 4) Reggie Wayne – Indianapolis Colt : Out from the shadow of Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne takes over the roll as QB Peyton Manning’s number one WR. Wayne could be one of the most dynamic WR’s in the game today with the ability to take every catch to the house, as well as go underneath for the quick slants. Wayne is currently ranked fourth, but could easily be one of the top-two WR’s in the game at the end of the season. My Projection : 1356 YDS – 10 RTD’s 3) Larry Fitzgerald – Arizona Cardinals : The things that make Larry Fitzgerald a top-three WR is his work ethic combined with his ability to make the difficult catch in the end-zone. Fitzgerald is in a great system, with two QB’s that like to sling the ball all over the field. In Points Per Receptions (PPR) leagues, Fitzgerald could easily be ranked number one. With 10 TD’s a year ago, there is no reason not to think he couldn’t do it again this year. My Projection : 1302 YDS – 10 RTD’s 2) Terrell Owens – Dallas Cowboys : Even at the vintage age of 35, Terrell Owens continues to dominant at his position. Over the last two seasons with Dallas, Owens has averaged 83 receptions for 1,268 yds and 14 TD’s. This season though could be the season we see Owens take over the number one Fantasy WR spot . Owens has some personal milestones he’s look forward to, like two more TD’s to pass Chris Carter for second on the all-time list, as well as, 1,000 yds receiving he’ll move into fourth place on the all-time yds list. Personal goals are what motivate Owens, so taken Owens in the beginning of the second round would be a great idea. My Projection : 1230 YDS – 13 RTD’s 1) Randy Moss – New England Patriots : Moss is simple the best WR in the game and he proved why last season. No way do I think he can duplicate last season’s numbers nor do I think he can come close. Moss though will still put up great numbers for your Fantasy team and is the only WR I would take in the first round. The numbers will be slightly lower than last year, but Moss is still the clear cut number one WR in the game. My Projection : 1351 YDS – 14 RTD’s |

Favorite Sport Baseball Sports Played: Baseball, Soccer, Football, Basketball Favorite covering sports moment: Getting to sit down and talk to Hall-of-Famer Duke Snider for two hours. We discussed the Brooklyn Dodgers day and their great teams, Jackie Robinson, and him being amongst the best OF'ers of his time. What a great man! If I was an athlete I would be like: Michael Jordan. This was a guy that took basketball to a whole new level. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were great for the NBA, but Jordan rose above the game and his influence can be seen in many of today's great players. CategoriesADVERTISEMENT
