3 Up / 3 Down is back to help you select three player to help you
dominate in the upcoming weekend series for June 27th-29th. If you’ve
seen the previous articles, 3 Up was point on with Johnny Damon and
Brad Hawpe.  The 3 Down segment of the article told you to stay away
from Chase Utley last weekend, and low and behold, Utley sits a day,
and goes 1-8 in the weekend series.

The best is still yet to
come.  Today I’ll help you analyze six more players that will help your
RotoHog team move up the standings and closer to the money.

3 Up

Curtis Granderson – Detriot Tigers – Outfielder - $17.40 : Granderson
is finally starting to come around with the bat.  Over the last two
weeks Granderson has raised his batting average from .235 to .282 while
enjoying a 12-game hitting streak.  This weekend Granderson and the
Tigers face the Colorado Rockies and their 22nd overall pitching
staff.  This is the time to jump all over Granderson at $17.    Don’t
the miss the boat RotoHog-a-holics, Granderson has finally arrived.

Brian Roberts – Baltimore Orioles –Second Baseman - $17.08 : Granderson has a 12-game hitting streak, well, Roberts is one better at
13.  As the fourth overall rated second baseman, Roberts is one of the
cheapest options you can go with at that position and still get
production. Don’t sleep on Roberts because he plays for the Orioles.
This weekend the Orioles face a team in turmoil in the Washington
Nationals, and this should be a weekend where Roberts produces plenty
of points for your RotoHog team.

Carlos Lee - Houston Astros – Outfielder - $19.29 : Carlos Lee to me is Mr. Consistency.  Lee hit .272 with six HR’s in
April and .275 with six HR’s in May.  Now in June, Lee’s batting .303
with five HR’s.  Lee, like his teammate Lance Berkman is a run
producer, but at reduced price.  If you’re team is in need of power,
look no further than Lee.  For a player that can drive in runs and not
kill your batting average, $19.29 is thrift store price for high-end
equipment.

3 Down

J.D. Drew – Boston Red Sox – Outfielder - $17.94 :
Just two weeks
ago many of the national media was talking about how well J.D. Drew was
filling in for ‘Big Pappi’. Now, Drew who’s hitless in his last 13
at-bats is trying to find his stroke once again.  Although Drew and Red
Sox will be in Houston and their hitting friendly park, look to replace
Drew with one of the outfielders listed above.

Josh Hamilton – Texas Rangers – Outfielder - $39.42 :
At the
beginning of June Josh Hamilton was batting .331 and everyone was
talking about the Triple Crown, including RotoHog. Now, Hamilton is
batting .310 (.265 in June) and could be hitting the wall.  At $39.42,
Hamilton has seen his price drop over $15 just this month.  If you are
still holding onto Hamilton, it’s time to cut your loses and move on.

Justin Upton – Arizona Diamondbacks – Outfield - $13.56 :
If you’re
in a keeper league, Upton is a prize.  For RotoHog Fantasy Baseball,
Upton is a team killer.  Since May Upton’s price has slowly declined
and to be honest there’s no end in sight.  With talk of possibly
sending Upton to the minors, if you still are holding on to hope, you
really need to dump Upton and look elsewhere for production from your
outfield spot.

There you have it, 3 Up / 3 Down for June
27th-29th.  Remember, if you have a question concerning your lineup or
a specific player, feel free to e-mail me paul@rotohog.com. Good Luck
RotoHog-a-holics.

Born: Amityville, NY -- Yes, that's right the same place as the horror show. Explains a lot huh?

Favorite Sport Baseball

Sports Played: Baseball, Soccer, Football, Basketball

Favorite covering sports moment: Getting to sit down and talk to Hall-of-Famer Duke Snider for two hours. We discussed the Brooklyn Dodgers day and their great teams, Jackie Robinson, and him being amongst the best OF'ers of his time. What a great man!

If I was an athlete I would be like: Michael Jordan. This was a guy that took basketball to a whole new level. Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were great for the NBA, but Jordan rose above the game and his influence can be seen in many of today's great players.
