Seeing footage of the Yankee & “UV” Rays brawl over and over again gave me the opportunity to realize WOW Tampa’s new jerseys sure aren’t anything to get excited about! Now, I am no fashionista…I just play one on this blog! Tampa, if you were going to have a slightly ugly jersey-why the heck not go all the way? This blog is a tribute to those who came before you and did it right! I’m talking about some of the ugliest jerseys in sports!

Have to lead off with a classic. The Houston Astros and their Rainbow Uniforms!! Words can barely describe the ugliness of this uniform. But some who donned this uniquely ugly ‘stros jersey have performed great feats. Nolan Ryan pitched his 5th career no-no suited up in this hideous outfit.

I know sometimes fathers don’t dress the best but Padres, come on!

I believe the real intent for this uniform design was to have the sun bounce off the jersey and blind the opponent. I also must mention the Pittsburgh Pirates uniform because, well, they are almost identical to the Padres uni but with an uglier hat.

If on September 23, 2007 you thought you were watching the Swiss National team take on the Detroit Lions you weren’t alone! Now, I love to see organizations pay homage to their past but not when it confuses your fans!

Ah, the Houston Texans. A young franchise with a lot of learning to do still. Quick lesson for you Texans: you employ football players—so don’t make them look like little kids wearing footie Pajamas!

It’s too bad Alex English’s career was spent in this ugly uniform.

Just think of the fame he could have garnered in a respectable get-up.

If you thought the other jerseys were bad…the Vancouver Canucks take the cake. Can you believe someone designed these jerseys, drew up the plans, proposed the idea to the higher ups and have all of those higher ups look at each other and say “YEAH! Our team is going to look sharp in those!”

Note the “V” on the pants as well. This jersey is so ugly I dare you not to love it!
