No way, Jose

No way Jose, I am not buying it!  On April 1st, Jose Canseco is set to release his new book, “Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars, and The Battle to Save Baseball.”  Why is this guy still around?  Didn’t his 15 minutes of fame run out yet?  Isn’t the tell-tale sign your fame has run its course is when you’re asked to appear on VH1’s Surreal Life?

Yet Jose seems to pop up every couple of years saying, “Hi guys?  Remember me?  I did steroids and even though I played over 7 years ago, I am still relevant!”  Well Jose, thanks to the Mitchell Report—we no longer need your ‘services’ anymore.  You were rendered useless after the 2005 release of "Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits and How Baseball Got Big."

The Congressional investigation has already released several big name athletes, so why did Canseco feel compelled to release another book?  Possibly to gather more suspicion around a certain New York Yankees player who tried to hit on his wife?  (That is just speculation, of course!)  It is widely reported that Canseco was supposed to collaborate with SI associate editor Don Yaeger, but Yaeger decided to bow out of the project.  Later, Yaeger told a paper that Canseco didn’t have enough evidence on A-Rod.  I guess Yaeger felt there was not enough evidence to make an entire book out of it.

But obviously, Canseco pushed on despite Yaeger’s rejection.  I feel like all Canseco does is target players he doesn’t like and try to ‘expose’ them anyway he can.  Canseco is like a whinny baby.  HE didn’t get any attention when HE was hitting homeruns so HE’S going to try and take down all the other ‘kids’ that overshadowed HIM!  He is not trying to save baseball—he is just trying to make a cheap buck.
