I am just not sure what the obsession is over the number five these days. Five dollar foot longs, other five dollar food deals and even a five dollar chef?!? Oh well, when in Rome. Here is my version of taking a five… 1) There isn’t one reason why the Tigers are struggling this season; there are many. Like their starting rotation boasting an AL worst 5.55 ERA and a 9-18 record. For you Tiger fans out there, I hope for your sake Jeremy Bonderman, Nate Robertson and Dontrelle Willis are just having a case of the contract blues…all are signed to multi-year deals through the 2010 season. Okay, let’s take a look at some current events and news stories and I want you to recall your first reaction when you heard each of them. Story #1: Sean Avery, the somewhat controversial left wing for the New York Rangers, will intern at Vogue this summer. Yes, that Vogue. Well, Men’s Vogue to be exact. Right now many of you have seen the ups and downs of the starting pitchers. For the select few who've owned the Webb's, Zambrano's and Wang's, congratulations, you're probably in the Top 100. Many of us however are probably struggling with our team pitchers due to many poor outings, injuries or lack of run production. So, what I thought I'd do is crunch some numbers to look under the hoods of some pitchers. I wanted to see if some of the below pitchers can help out your team.
