people have been arguing this for a few decades now, but who is better, Wayne or Mario? Stats all point to Wayne. Stanley Cups point to Wayne. Harts, Wayne. Art Ross, Wayne. Conn Smyths, Wayne. Hotter wife, Wayne. I mean, what's the argument here? It's like arguing who's a better player, Michael Jordan or Vince Carter? Sure Vince Carter's pretty good, but come on!

Seen alot of truly great hockey players Orr,Gretkzy,Lemieux,Rocket,Hull,Messier,Beliveau,etc..
But the greatest was Gordie Howe because Howe didn't need goons to protect him and believe me when I say that Gretzky wouldn't have stood a chance against Howe..He would have cleaned his clock...
This man played professional hockey for over 30 years and played when he was 52 years old..Name me another professional player that ever played at that age in a contact sport,geezzzzzzzzz.....YOU CAN'T

I thought this issue was settle when after Wayne retired, he was elavated to Hockey God status and after Mario retired, he, um, retired. Mario better watch out, hockey gods don't take disrespect lightly.

Only if you're from Pittsburg will you even remotely think that Mario is better. Otherwise, the rest of the world would agree that Wayne is the greatest, followed by Bobby Orr, then maybe Gordie, then Ray Bourque, then maybe we can start to bring Mario into the discussion.

why are you wasting time comparing the two? It's More like MJ vs Dominique Wilkins. Yes, at one point people thought they were similar. But the test of time has revealed that Wayne Gretzky is above and beyond everyone else. Most people in today's NBA may not even know who dominique wilkins is. In a few years, people may not know who Mario is. Wayne - he will always be the greatest one.

Ok, before we go crazy and compare Mario to Wayne, Mario needs to prove that he's better than the others. You can't compare mere mortals (Mario) to Diety (Wayne). Mortals need to prove themselves first. Has MArio ever scored 200 points in a season? No? Mortal. Has he ever scored 90 goals in the season? Mortal. Has he ever had more than 120 assists in a season? Mortal. Mario is a great mortal. Wayne is diety. 215 points in a season. 92 goals. 163 assists! There's no comparison! It's stupid to even put them in the same sentence. Wayne is the greatest athlete to ever walk on the earth. Mario may be in the top 100, I'm not sure. Maybe.
